When we put out the call for submissions for Black Power: The Superhero Anthology, we expected a good response. However, we were NOT expecting to receive over 50 submissions.
Correction: over 50 submissions of some of the greatest stories we have ever had the pleasure of reading!
It was difficult to narrow it down, but we have chosen nineteen (19) stories we feel best capture what we are looking for and will excite and inspire readers who have been waiting for an anthology like this – one in which Black Superheroes are at the forefront, aren’t simply the sidekick, cannon fodder, or the “Magical Negro,” whose major purpose is to pick the white hero up (emotionally and often physically) when he is down and encourage said white hero to go on and save the world.
We at Blacktastic Books – the Comic Book, Graphic Novel and Superhero imprint of Roaring Lions Productions – are proud to reveal the TOC for Black Power: The Superhero Anthology!

Ah, yes! I made it! Wonderful new and it looks like an amazing collection! I notice that you don’t have a story in there though. Too busy with SOBSF Con?
I heard a fundraiser for Ki Khanga will begin soon too, which also has me excited. I’ve been wondering lately what’s happening with Rite of Passage though.
I’m in there. Forgot to add myself. 🙂
Yes, the Ki Khanga Fundraiser is being put together now and Rite of Passage is, unfortunately, still in post-production limbo.
That’s too bad about Rite of Passage; hopefully something can be moved along in the future. Great about Ki Khanga though; I’m definitely contributing.
Ah, so you’re the 20th author then. I’m excited to see what your story’s about! Black Power must be huge!

Can’t wait!
Wow.
First, it’s great that I got picked. I had no idea. I was checking my email for any confirmation of receipt or rejection. After I didn’t see anything I just assumed that it was lost in the shuffle.
Second, what’s next? Has it been published? What do I need to do on my end?
Again, great stuff and very exciting. Looking at the names chosen I can tell I’m in very good company.
